So our Barn Nights on Monday night are working very well for Clyde Mare, thanks to Jeanne D. That woman's dedication to that mare is making a life-saving difference to that mare. And that mare knows it. Amazing to observe!
Once a month, we will have a Progress Day at THE FARM. Dress in work clothes with good boots and gloves and bring your beverages and food. We'll break for lunch around 1pm and then wrap up a little after lunch.
You need not be a volunteer to help at Progress Days so bring your family, your friends, or people you know that want to check us out. We won't be working with the horses so Horse Handling Classes are not required either. Just a desire to help keep this place running!
Projects for this first Progress Days include:
Draining the pond and taking a crack at getting it ready to be refilled
Filling tires on lawn tractors and wheelbarrows (we have the compressor needed)
Repairing broken fence boards
Repairing the center wire fence line
Cleaning the big barn (mostly with the skid loader) and then liming the floor
Hanging fans in tie stalls, corral barn, and box stalls in the Big Barn
That's a good list! If there are little people, we have ALWAYS the task of picking up yard sticks and creating a burn pile down by the corral. And yes, there is always poop in the yard for picking!
The first Progress Day will be Sunday, June 14th. We will begin anytime after 10am and we should be wrapped up right around 3pm.
Your help is not only appreciated but very much needed! This place is getting tourists from all over the country already this year and it looks a little shabby. We can easily turn it around with a dozen sets of hands, a set of tools, and smiles!
Thanks, Everyone!
